OCI, together with CCI and University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, announced the establishment of Oriental Pan-Vascular Devices Innovation Institute.

 

New Era, New Ecology, New Model, New Mechanism

The Innovation Forum was successfully held during the Oriental Conference of Interventional Neurovascology (OCIN2022) on 16 December. During the forum, the OCIN Club for Innovations (OCI), together with the Center for Cardiovascular Innovations (CCI) and University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, announced the establishment of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology,  Oriental Pan-Vascular Devices Innovation Institute.

 

Ge Junbo, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of the Department of Cardiology at Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to  Fudan University, was appointed as the Director of the Institute's Council and Chief Scientist, and Professor Liu Jianmin, Director of the Cerebrovascular Disease Centre at the First Affiliated Hospital of the Naval Medical University, was appointed as Honorary President of the Institute.

 

The Establishment of the Institute is Propitiously Timed amid Growing Momentum

In recent years, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology has strongly integrated the advantages of resources and elements of innovation such as universities, research institutes, hospitals, enterprises and financial institutions, and has taken the lead in establishing important platforms such as the Interdisciplinary Convergence of Medical Engineering Innovation Research Institute, the Interdisciplinary Convergence of Medical Engineering Innovation Graduate School and the Shanghai High-end Medical Equipment Innovation Centre, which greatly promote the independent innovation and talent training of high-end medical equipment. On this basis, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, together with CCI and OCI, established University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Oriental Pan-Vascular Devices Innovation Institute, relying on the team of academician Ge Junbo in the cardiovascular field and the team of Professor Liu Jianmin in the cerebrovascular field.

 

In the future, the institute will collaborate with doctors, experts, enterprises and other multidisciplinary talents to promote extensive and comprehensive cooperation among the three parties in cooperative research, achievement transformation and talent training, and focus on cultivating high-quality projects of interdisciplinary convergence of medical engineering in the Pan-vascular field, forming a "special zone" of graduate education reform, and building a new pattern of interdisciplinary convergence of medical engineering innovation "for people's life and health"!
