OCIN, as a symbol rooted in Oriental Conference of Interventional Neuroradiology, was established to spread and stay refreshed with the cutting-edge concepts and technologies of neurointervention across the world. With development in the past two decades, OCIN, growing with neurointervention, has become an important platform of exchange for the neurovascular specialists all over the world. OCIN has been adhering to the core values of " Originality, Collaboration, Interaction, Normalization", being inclusiveness and pursuing excellence. Interaction: the OCIN Conference is an annual event consecutively since 2001. Now it is one of the most famous conferences in the field of neurovascular disease, covering about 5,000 participants, bringing together top experts all over the world. Meanwhile, OCIN is a place to build connection, share experiences, demonstrate insights and makes suggestions through joint meetings, webinars and workshops etc. Collaboration: OCIN attaches great importance to international cooperation and works closely with WLNC, ESMINT, SNIS, KSIN, JSNET and other international organizations to jointly promote the rapid development of the management of neurovascular diseases. In order to overcome the unknown challenges encountered during clinical research, OCIN drives the establishment of several collaborative teams such as the OCEAN Consortium (OCEAN is short for “Oriental Collaboration group on Emerging Advanced therapy for Neurovascular diseases”), OCIN Core lab and OCIN clinical evaluation committee, which facilitate a series of high-quality trials such as DIRECT-MT, ENCHANTED-MT and LATE-MT. Normalization: Since its establishment, OCIN has been strictly disciplined to “demonstrate the most standardized procedure” and has set up a standardized and formalized training system. Under the framework of OCIN, more than 160 training courses have been organized, where more than 11,000 doctors from 34 countries have been trained. OCIN led or was involved in the formulation of 5 Chinese guidelines and 3 international consensus guidelines regarding the management of neurovascular diseases so as to standardize the patient care. Originality: As an academic link between China and the world, OCIN established OCI (“OCIN Club for Innovation”) as an open ecological platform for global neurovascular physicians, researchers, engineers and entrepreneurs, etc. It highlights unmet clinical needs, proposes possible solutions, promotes therapeutic innovation, technology iteration and device development. The vitality of OCIN roots in the practice of neurointervention. OCIN will continue to uphold the core value of "Originality, Collaboration, Interaction, Normalization", and is committed to becoming a world-class institution for education and training, scientific research, and innovation transformation in the field of neurovascular diseases, which will be eventually translated to the overall decline of incidence, morbidity and mortality due to neurovascular diseases.
