Professor Li Yansheng who is a member of the Stroke Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association, talked about the close relationship between OCIN and the Stroke Branch of Shanghai Medical Association.

From December 15 to 18, 2022, the Oriental Conference of Interventional Neurovascology 2022 (OCIN 2022) will be held both online and offline in Shanghai, China. At the same time, the Annual Conference of the Stroke Branch of Shanghai Medical Association will also be held in 2022. Professor Li Yansheng of Renji Hospital, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, who is a member of the Stroke Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association, talked about the close relationship between OCIN and the Stroke Branch of Shanghai Medical Association, shared the future development plan and analyzed the new concept of stroke prevention and treatment.

To Improve Stroke Treatment: Stroke Branch of Shanghai Medical Association was Established

On October 28, 2011, the Stroke Branch of Shanghai Medical Association was established, which was the first provincial and municipal stroke branch in China at that time. It makes comprehensive use of the forces of neurology and neurosurgery department, emergency department, rehabilitation department, neurointerventional department and the patient's living community, so that stroke patients can get adequate and reasonable treatment and intervention at different stages, so as to save patients' lives and significantly reducing the disability rate of stroke patients.

Professor Li Yansheng said that the annual conference of the Stroke Branch of Shanghai Medical Association is a grand event in the field of cerebrovascular disease. Every year, the conference selects the current hot topics in the field of stroke prevention and treatment, and shares the latest research results and clinical experience at home and abroad to further unify the understanding, standardize the treatment strategy and improve the homogeneous treatment level in the field.

In the future, the Stroke Branch of Shanghai Medical Association will continue to jointly explore the establishment of a regional hierarchical stroke diagnosis and treatment system with medical institutions at all levels in Shanghai, as well as to standardize training and education to improve the stroke recognition ability of primary care workers and the ability of primary care hospitals to provide effective emergency stroke transport.

In Li Yansheng's opinion, prevention is more important than cure when it comes to stroke. Once stroke occurs, it is likely to lead to disability or death of patients, so prevention is the most effective prevention and treatment method of stroke. A considerable amount of foreign experience has confirmed that the risk of stroke can be significantly reduced by controlling risk factors related to stroke in the early stage.

"The first thing we need to do is set up a sound patient education system, as well as a sound training system for primary care doctors. Let everyone know that stroke can be prevented by reducing the incidence from the source and taking steps to ensure all confirmed patients with stroke are treated as early as possible. "

OCIN Comes From The East, Goes Global

It is a bold and successful attempt of Shanghai Medical Association to hold the annual conference of Stroke Branch of Shanghai Medical Association and OCIN at the same time.

It is the unanimous goal to build a series of "Oriental" academic brands, to promote the "Shanghai spirit" and to comprehensively promote the construction of a healthy China.. The combination of Shanghai Medical Association and OCIN is the choice of both sides and the support of this era.
