HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR TO ALL MY DEAR FRIENDS

Chinese New Year, also called Lunar New Year, annual 15-day festival in China and Chinese communities around the world that begins with the new moon that occurs sometime between January 21 and February 20 according to Western calendars. Festivities last until the following full moon. Chinese New Year occurs on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in many of the countries that celebrate it.The holiday is sometimes called the Lunar New Year because the dates of celebration follow the phases of the moon. Since the mid-1990s people in China have been given seven consecutive days off work during the Chinese New Year. This week of relaxation has been designated Spring Festival, a term that is sometimes used to refer to the Chinese New Year in general.

Distinguished comrades and friends:

My greetings to you all!

The bell of the Year of the Tiger is going to ring, we are about to enter the 2022 Chinese New Year. Here, on behalf of the Executive Committee of OCIN and the Expert Committee of  Neuro-Intervention News, I would like to extend my best wishes to fellow countrymen and friends at home and abroad for the New Year!

In 2021, we managed to weather the storm, worked hard and reaped the rewards all the way, and had a wonderful year!

Over the past year, despite the pandemic, we have been able to save the lives of stroke patients by responding to the extraordinary battles with extraordinary strategies, and overcoming the extraordinary difficulties with extraordinary actions.

In 2021, OCIN Club for Innovations (OCI) was formally established after more than two years of deliberate preparation, and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Center for Cardiovascular Innovations (CCI), announcing that China's Neuro-interventional industry has entered the era of innovation.

We guard the health of the nation with our expertise and dedication in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, recovery and other parts of cerebrovascular diseases.

In 2022, the prevention and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases remains an uphill battle. I  hope that our cerebrovascular doctors can expand the thinking, continue holding high the banner of patient first and standardized innovation, and establish the concept of innovative medical development. Also, I hope new breakthroughs can be made in stroke diagnosis and treatment,  as well as the education and research, especially in new clinical evidence, new materials, new technologies and new therapies. Besides, I hope all of us will work hard, start a new journey, improve social values and gain more achievements again! Let the cerebrovascular disease patients get a healthier and happier life with our efforts!

Finally, as the Lunar New Year is approaching, I sincerely wish you all good health, success in career, felicity of the whole family and good fortune in the Year of the Tiger!
